Three Ways To Simplify Your Life Without Throwing Stuff Away

When we talk about simplifying our lives and being more minimalistic, we often talk about throwing things away. This is obviously an effective way to be more minimalistic, but not everyone benefits from having less stuff. I’m sure there are other people out there like myself, that get creative in rooms with a bit of ‘clutter’. However, I have found a few ways to simplify my life without throwing stuff way. Here’s a rundown:

1. Design a morning routine that works for you. Starting both my week and my morning off right is so important for me to have a good, productive day. I usually go for a run, do some yoga and make sure I eat a well-rounded healthy breakfast. All very logical things, but sometimes we forget the importance of having a good routine.

2. Stop switching purses, except when necessary. Check what you have in your purse right now. What do you really need on a day to day basis? Make sure everything has its own place, so you can grab for it without thinking. Since I stopped dragging stuff along with me that I don’t need, I don’t even feel the need to switch out purses anymore.

3. Focus on using things up and wearing them out before buying something new. Here’s to simplifying your life and saving money. It really helps me to take a moment and ask myself ‘do I really need this?’ every time I want to buy a new piece of clothing or make-up item. 9 out of 10 times the answer is no. Because I’m buying less, I’m accumulating less stuff and having more grip on my finances.

  1. Ooh, these are super good tips! I really like routines, looove routines, and I think they totally can help keep one on track and productive. (Or else I get to the end of the day and am like “but what did I even do”.😂) And I also definitely ask myself how much I need something before I get it. Or try swapping it out! (Unless it’s books, than I never buy one and get rid of another because #bookhoarder but for clothes and things I try to get rid of old stuff if I’m bringing in new!

Thanks for stopping by @ Paper Fury!

  2. I have really been focused on your #3 for about a year now and I do love the liberation. I am retired now so it might be easier for me but not going out shopping for clothes frees up my time. Sometimes I even find something pretty retro hiding in the back of the closet. That’s fun.
