My 5 Favorite Self-Help eBooks under $5

What can you buy for five bucks? A cup of coffee at Starbucks, or an eBook that will change your life.

Personally, I love the combination of eBooks and self-help. Often, I don’t read a self-help book from back to back. Rather, I like to read chapters here and there, while having the ability to compare the advice from one book to another. Having tons of eBooks stored on my eReader at the same time makes it possible for me to do that.

Here’s a little rundown of my all time favorite self-help eBooks, all under $5!

    1. 30 Days of Focus: The Step-by-Step Guide to Supercharge Your Productivity and Crush Your Goals in the Next 30 Days. I read this book during a time in my life where I was feeling like I was stuck in a rut. I was feeling uninspired and like I wasn’t being able to focus properly on the things I wanted to do. That’s exactly what this book is about. It’s a pretty quick read, but it contains tons of actionable advice and inspiring words.
    2. A Spy’s Guide to Thinking. This book has a subtle message that I really like: structure equals behaviour. While reading this, you will teach yourself a new habitual way of thinking, almost unconsciously. It helps you to quickly analyze situations, put them in perspective and give the right response.
    3. Habit Stacking: 97 Small Life Changes That Take Five Minutes or Less. Want to improve your life without spending much time on it? This book is for you. After reading this and implementing the so-called ‘habit stacking’, my quality of life drastically improved.
    4. Deliver Me From Negative Self Talk:A Guide To Speaking Faith-Filled Words. I used to struggle with negative self-talk a lot, and am planning to make a separate post about it soon. In that post you will probably hear about this book again, because it helped me so much along the way. This book is specifically aimed at religious people, which is interesting because I don’t consider myself religious at all. It still contains tons of good advice though! Since I do not believe in God, I changed some of the wording in my head. Instead of ”God wants the best for me”, I would change it to ”My loved ones want the best for me”.
    5. Declutter Your Mind: How to Stop Worrying, Relieve Anxiety, and Eliminate Negative Thinking. Are you an overthinker? Welcome to the club. This book helps you practice specific mindfulness techniques that will help you to worry less and focus on what’s important in life. I love how actionable and straight-to-the-point this is. If you hate fluff, this is for you.

  1. It’s funny. I’m not a fan of self-help books, but when I do read them I have, like you, a sort of dipping and scanning routine… but these look great! And I feel like I’d benefit from dipping into almost all of them. Think I might have to give it a go. Thx!
